OK gang, I need a little help and reassurance on this one. I am about to ship my Mustang in the next week or two. I currently have a custom 93 octane tune loaded in the ECU. Here is my question to everyone across OK:

"Is 93 octane gas readily available across the entire state or is (insert rating here) octane the norm?"

All replies are welcomed.

I think 91 Octane is usually Super Unleaded here. I've seen 93 but I am pretty sure it is not common.

flintysooner is correct. You can find 93, but 91 is the norm.

My husband has a car he puts high octane in, and he tells me about half the time he finds 93, and about half the time 91.

Thanks everyone. I kind of figured this would be the case. I can only assume that 93 octane becomes more difficult to find as you get further away from the major cities. Maybe I can convince some of the local farmers to supercharge their tractors and start running 93 so we can increase supply and demand. Tractor Drags here we come.

Actually I heard or maybe read that 93 was more common in Tulsa and in Lawton. But I don't know that first hand. Maybe someone from Lawton will post about it.

93 is almost impossible to find now in Oklahoma since the gas prices a few years ago sky rocketed. It used to be at every gas station in the state, almost. Now you can't find it anywhere. I have an STI that required it, but now I have to run 91, it sucks!!

First you'd have to get the tractor manufacturers to make them run on unleaded instead of diesel, and the resulting increased demand would probably make unleaded gas prices go up even higher. It's probably not worth it.

briansgi,

If you don't mind me asking, what area are you currently residing in? I have a few STI acquaintances here in Germany. They came from areas in the States that only had 91. Once they started feeding their beasts 93, all you could see on their faces was .
