The way it appears, Tulsa's winter is quite comparable to our mid to late autumn.
We spent one winter in Conrad, MT, and that was cold! We'd rented a house and the thermometer seemed to be broken, for one solid week it stayed at -20, then all of a sudden one day it actually made it up to 15 above! I really didn't think it was that cold, it was very dry, and every morning I let the dogs out barefooted, and I couldn't figure out why my feet were a funny color while I had my first cup of coffee. Then it was like of course they were a funny color, they were half frozen! It's not supposed to get that cold in the Lower 48, and I never had that problem taking the dogs out barefooted when we spent a winter in Anchorage.
