People are requesting photos of old grave sites from cemeteries all over OK. and other states. If anyone is interested in receiving request to take picture of old grave sites at cemeteries in and around your area, post them for the person making the request, the link is below.
This is all volunteer, and there's no money involved and even if you sign up and receive a request your not obligated to do it. The request will come to your email inbox and you can claim the request or turn it down.

The cemeteries within your zip code are the only ones you'll receivbe requests for.
I just thought some of you might be interest.

This is really a nice service Mk. I'm adding several cemeteries to my list and will take all requests that I can. I remember how hard it was when I was doing my ancestry. Wish I'd known about this site, if it was on the net at the time.

Speaking of cemeteries, I quite recently drove by the Mt. Vernon cemetery to check on it and was delighted to find a new hog wire fence had been put up all around it and the grass mowed down. I don't think much mowing had been done in some years. So for the first time in a long while, I was able to tour the graveyard and find and view my relatives' graves.

Mt. Vernon cemetery is small, located at the corner of Mt. Vernon Rd. and I think, Yost Rd., between Yale and Glencoe, OK. For added interest, next to the cemetery is the sandstone foundation to what's left of the Mt. Vernon Church, gone since the 1950's. What happened to it, and why it wasn't built back, I don't know.

Another interesting grave site in my area is the Dunkin Family Plot, located less than a mile south of E. 68th St. and the Dunkin Bridge over the Cimarron River, between Cushing and Stillwater. It has a nice fence around it and apparently always well maintained. In sharp contrast to that, nearby is a small cemetery in a complete state of disrepair and heavy growth.

The Dunkin Bridge that spans the Cimarron River used to be something else. It once was a creaky, noisy, wooden, one lane bridge. But the great flood of 1986 took it away while small crowds gathered at both sides to witness the awful event. A modern two lane bridge took its place while taking away its former creepy charm.
