Paul McCartney announces his first concert at BOK Center, on Monday, Aug. 17.

BOK Center is calling it a celebration of the venue’s one-year anniversary.

This monumental event also marks the legendary performer’s only arena show during his current 2009 North American stadium concerts, as well as McCartney’s first Oklahoma show in nearly seven years. He played at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City in 2002.
don't you hate that there is nothing going on in Oklahoma?

I would love to go to that show. Wonder how much the tickets are? I haven't been to a stadium concert since U2 back in the mid 90's, which btw was the last concert I went to see.

I told Anna that Paul McCartney was to me what the Jonas Bros are to her. I'm waiting for the tickets to go on sale July 20th myself. I hope they're not too, too much. I really want to see him, but I won't sell the farm to do it. Let's keep our fingers crossed, RB.

That's like comparing the New Kids on the Block with the Rolling Stones, or Miley "Retardus" Cyrus to Janis Joplin!

Well, when my kids were little they thought "Here Comes the Sun" and It's a Beautiful Day were weather reports. *sigh* I did have a chance once to go to a Neil Diamond concert, but I could only afford the ticket or the airfare or the hotel, but not all three. Actually, they were each about the same cost, and I just couldn't see myself going to the bank and getting a loan to go to a concert.

Well, as time proved the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Janis, etc., only time will prove or disprove the staying power of the Jonas Brothers. But each generation has their own "keepers."

Oh, you guys are SO lucky to be living near there. I would LOVE to see Paul M. in concert. I never got to see the Beatles when they were still alive and together. Paul was always my fave though. I had a crush on him. I liked their songs in their early years.

Funny thing~a few years ago in a local school the students kept laughing about the rock n roll music. SO, the instructor decided to get their input on a song to see what they DO like. Well, they just went wild over the song and thought it was just the greatest. They were just so sure that their generation had the greatest music. The song~"Twist and Shout."

I know, and I know what you were saying to your DD. I was only giving you a Hard Day's Night.

Everybody pales in comparison to McCartney... The man has been rocking for decades and he's better than ever, as evidenced in the following videos...
