Hey all! My son is completing boot camp and will be graduating the first part of April. I need info on hotels in the area. We need to find a good hotel close by Fort Sill, and any good tips y'all can give us about the area! Thanks in advance!

Hi Kats! There are a group of Hotel/Motels just off the turnpike very near the base that have good reviews. (And I wouldn't be afraid to try! LOL) All are about 3 miles from the entrance to the base and have easy access to the HWY.

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lawton-Fort Sill
209 Southeast Interstate Drive, Lawton, OK - (580) 248-4446

SpringHill Suites Lawton
3 Southeast Interstate Drive, Lawton, OK - (580) 248-8500

Comfort Suites
201 Southeast Interstate Drive, Lawton, OK - (580) 248-2200

Fairfield Inn
201 Southeast 7th Street, Lawton, OK - (580) 248-5500

Best Western Lawton Hotel & Convention Center
1125 Northeast Gore Boulevard, Lawton, OK - (580) 353-0200

You can look them up online and check the reviews. Personally I would avoid any on NorthWEST Gore Blvd. Although it is a bit closer and there MAY be a decent one in the bunch, most look VERY seedy and have bad reviews.

We have never stayed at any of them but we do go into the area for shopping and dining. There are a few places to eat not far from the motels I listed (including a Cracker Barrel restaurant that we loved! )

Good luck and have fun. Our boy graduated boot in Chicago and this smalltown girl was a little overwhelmed!!

Kats! Omigosh, I miss seeing you around! Plus, my husband lives in Lawton and works at Ft Sill now LOL. No more advice than what Robyn already gave you about hotels, but...you should take him to get a Meers burger to celebrate! They have a site online so you can check them out - not far from Lawton Congrats to him and to you!

LADY - Thanks so very much for the info! This is a tremendous help to me and I appreciate it so much! The details are exactly what I needed to make me more comfortable about going! Thanks Lady!

TOOSIE!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey you crazy thing, you! Good to see you! I didn't realize your DH was there! I am going to look up what a "Meers" is right now! Thanks for the Congrats! I talked with him a few days ago and he has a terrible cold! He sounded very upbeat though, and seems to be doing very well!
