The big yellow monster wants me to move to Omaha from TX. Because I'm not acclimated with the winter I think it's best I live downtown the first year within walking distance of HDC. I was told apartment buildings are a short distance away, I believe on Leavenworth or Jones Street? They said numerous UP employees live in these apartments. Okay.....that is a concern.

How well does everybody get along living and working in the same neighborhood?

Yep, that's the place. I'd be sitting at one of those workstations.

That's only one side. Out of view to the left of the photographer is another 30 or 40 desks.

Yeah, it's a big place.

Might oughta consider jumping the fence and going to work for a real RR, like say the BNSF....I wouldn't cross the street, let alone State for your "yellow monster". I have to wonder what they are dispatching at HDC, as the UP furloughed thousands of their train service employees back in 08. You know what CMS stands for....right....? And it is not "crew management services"......lousy company, watch your back !

Just curious, but what kind of education/work experience do you need to work whatever job those guys are working? I showed that picture to a friend of my younger brother and he's awe struck to put it lightly.
