Central High needs to reign in their school's trauncy problem.

downtown 's library is over-run by folks skipping school from Omaha Central High or are folks from Open Door Mission using it as a day shelter

that is why I avoid that library like the plague
Honest questions. First, how is Central "enabling" their students to use the library while truant? Second, how do you suggest they combat this problem?

enabling by looking the other way and pretending it aint going on.

Central High knows kids are playing hooky to go to the library and they refuse to go down there and drag the traunt kids out of there.

too many Central High folks act like Sgt. Schulz from Hogan's Heroes

my suggestion: get tough and get more involved in the school and not be so focused on their walletts (or in the alumni reps case, their need to hold onto power)

both Omaha Benson High and Omaha Central High needs alumni reps and staff who are more General Patton and less Patton Leather

How are they doing this?

So you want the staff to start leaving the school to go out searching for kids who don't want to be there rather than focusing on the kids who are they? Doesn't sound like a great idea for enhancing education to me.

Oh, and I can just imagine people from the school coming off campus and trying to make students go back. Had someone tried to pull that stunt on me I'd had told them to shove it up their ass.

The alumni have nothing to do with this nor do they have any power in that regard.

the sooner they move downtown 's library the better.

or maybe close downtown's library to save money for the next year. that would be a solution to prevent any other library from being affected.

that and maybe some of the freeloaders at downtown's library might finally be forced to do something other than playing video games and listening to rap music on the computer all day

simple:

it wouldnt be a day shelter for the Open Door Mission or Omaha Central High anymore

the ODM folks should be focused on finding a job, not playing video games and rap music all day

everyone who goes to downtown 's library (or has) knows downtown's library is jokingly nicknamed

the Open Door Mission Day Shelter (or Omaha Central High library cause of the folks who are always there

This is why there needs to be some kind of rule about allowing the transients to hang out there all day.

So because of a couple small issues we should close the flagship library?

Makes total sense.

I imagine they're learning more at the library than they are at Central High School.
