Anyone know for sure what kind of food items they stock? Being a west coast company I just get this feeling it's going to be another whole foods like store. Do they carry normal, non organic foods?

Also I have never been in that part of town before, how bike friendly is it? Are there wide sidepaths or at the least wide roads with traffic lights?

Thanks!

We have them out here in Sacramento and its pretty much the only place we get groceries.
It manages to have both cheaper and higher quality products.

And get this, even their instant foods and canned stuff are amazing.

Two examples:

We bought a premade frozen Chicken Parmigiana (like $7 for two breasts and the pasta and sauce) and looked at the Ingredients: IT WAS ALL FOOD LISTED THERE.

Same thing with a canned (and awesome) Clam Chowder we got. The ingredients were like : Milk, Fresh Clams, Potatoes, etc. And it was cheaper and heartier than a can of say Chunky from Safeway.

I love that place. Go there. You'll see.

Finally, I was waiting for the date. I drove past 1 Pacific Place a couple weeks ago and didn't see what even looked like a trace of Trader Joe's I was hoping they didn't back out.

It's great food for reasonable prices. That's their thing. . They search around for good food that doesn't break the bank. It's awesome!

Trader Joes is very different from Whole Foods. It is a great store with good prices and a lot of good food options. If you've never been to one, the thing to know is that they pretty much only carry their own brand of everything, so there is not a ton of selection. I love living in a city that has both Trader Joes and Whole Foods, plus all the regular grocery stores. It's great that Omaha is getting a TJ's.

!
When I lived in SoCal, Trader Joe's carried some organic foods, some fun foods, lots of wine and beer and a lot of eclectic foods. It was always a fun shop.

I would describe is as more like an upscale Aldi store - limited selection of private label items, well priced goods.

In the Midwest, the grocery items are pretty much the same as you will find at their SoCal stores. The fresh goods are no where near as good and at least in Chicago, are all brought in from Massachusettes. What is disappointing is that little us sourced locally. It is not like we don't have bakeries or sausage producers in Chicago.

It is a fun place to shop but not a place where you can do all of your shopping.
