No real surprise going by how strong the car culture is here. I work less than a block from jimmy johns downtown and yet the one time I ordered delivery from them they DROVE the 1/3rd block to get to me. I also know people that will drive their car from one store to the next, even if they are on the same block. Truly sad.

Also while Omaha is ranked as 142, just how do they calculate that number? I AM overweight and as such likely contribute to that low number, but as I ride my bicycle as my primary transportation I consider myself in better health than people half my size (and my doctor agrees). My blood work shows I am in perfect health (or as perfect as modern medicine figures).

I notice us being fat every day. Most every time somebody misses their bus stop (bus stops here are very close to each other) they don't walk to the stop (which would take considerably less time), they wait for the next bus going the opposite direction.

you might be right.

considering most nebraska cornhusker fans look and are overweight

not surprised omaha is considered one of the fattest cities in america.

nebraska cornhusker fans should be as in shape as the husker football team, not looking like contestants for the biggest loser

Did you actually look at how they came up with this ranking? Go check that and then come back here and tell me if you think it's legit.

Have you not seen those guys? Many are at or over 300lbs and almost all are over 200lbs! Not exactly the image of fitness.

that dont surprise me.

people in Omaha Nebraska are by their nature lazy. and the lazy and overweight problem in Omaha Nebraska has to end.

we should be the most energetic and in shape town in the country, not the laziest and fattest.
