Prosecutors say they have DNA evidence from her backpack that the connects him to the crime. That's probably the biggest piece.

That, combined with being a level 3 sex offender and his record that features 9 felonies, sexual assaults of children, and various other charges. I also think he lived in the area that the girls body was found.

Uhh, didn't he tell another individual that he had done it, also? Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember that for some reason.

I'm not sure. Possibly. Although that probably wouldn't hold up in court like DNA does. .

Yes, there was someone who came forward and said Roy Ellis had admitted it to him but like pheaton mentioned, it didn't get much court attention that I know of...mostly just media.
