I am glad it failed.

Stothert and Festersen are the 2 omaha city council members I have respect for really.

Other than the fact that they're uber conservative like yourself, what have either one of them done to deserve much respect? I was pretty indifferent on Festersen until the police contract issue, but Stothert is nothing but a wanna-be Sarah Palin whose only claim to fame is saying "no" to everything.

Festersen was behind helping the saving the florence library. I saw him and Justin wayne at that rally they had there last year.

btw: Festersen is a democrat. Stothert is a republican and I am a registered independent.

I rep

bosco, what has Jerram or Gray or Mulligan done to gain any respect?

Gray wants business at 49th and dodge yet has nohting to say about 48th or 50th ames (which actually is in his district)

Jerram wanted that ghastly satellite dish tax cause he had connections with cox cable

and Mulligan (along with Suttle) thinks 105th and spaulding had the worst potholes in the city

Ok, that's good.

I know he is a Democrat, but he's still very conservative.

I like Jerram, but he hasn't done anything particularly noteworthy either aside from publicly making Stothert, Thompson and their teabagger cohorts look like a bunch of morons.

Gray has shown a willingness to go out and attack issues like the firefighter staffing (which I didn't like) and took an aggressive stance to alot of the public rhetoric regarding the budget issues. He's off to a good start for a relative newbie to the city council.

Mulligan has been on the council for only a few months now and the only real major issue he has dealt with was the police contract.

How do you know he has nothing to day about it? Have you spoken to him personally about it?

Just because he was a pivotal figure in the CVS going into Dundee doesn't mean you can assume he has no stance on old Baker's. Ben has been very active in the North Omaha community for years so for all you know he's been pushing for more business there behind the scenes.

So what? It was an idea that was tossed out to help the budget, was found to be on shaky legal ground and was subsequently scrapped.

Again, so what? While saying it was the worst might not have been technically correct, the street was in very bad shape, was it not?

the street was a little bad, but there are way worse ones

62nd and ames to fowler

or 60th street to 63rd street where taylor street is.

and there are some bad streets in mid-town and west omaha I could mention

they are way worse than 105th and Spaulding streets.

Now just one more recall to watch fail. It is going to be a lolfest! And for the record I do not like the mayor, I just don't see anything that is deserving of a recall.

While I may disagree on their political stance.. A recall election is really unjust unless if there is a very good justification, like an illegal act..

Recalling somebody because you don't like them is a big waste of tax payer money.. I don't like Suttle either, but I don't believe we should recall him..
