I am thinking of moving to an apartment in the Blackstone neighborhood over in Midtown because it is within walking distance to work. How safe is the neighborhood?

Very safe. Some people might try to convince you otherwise, but if you are from a city of any size, you will find their opinions of what is safe and unsafe laughable.

As a young man I have never felt unsafe in that area. I have been on foot at all hours of the day and night and have never had a problem. That area is also becoming much more gentrified with each passing day.

While I don't live in the area, I am around there often and feel it is very safe. It at one time did have a reputation but over the years it has been cleaned up and now for an inner city neighborhood is about as safe as you can ask for.

Now That's not to say it is crime free, but compare to the rest of the urbanized areas of the city and other cities the size of Omaha it's not that bad.

It's fine. I have a friend who just recently moved out of that area and he loved it.
