I have been looking at houses for a while, but my search is becoming more serious. I am in contact with an agent, but I'm not sure he is familiar enough with what I am looking for.

I work and my children go to school in Council Bluffs, so I would like to decrease my commute a bit (I currently live near Rockbrook) plus I prefer the older neighborhoods. Something near Center and east of 84th would be preferable. As far as prices, anything between $100,000 and $150,000 is my range with the center of that what I would like to stay close to.

I am going tomorrow to look at some houses south of Center and on or near 49th street. I drove the neighborhood and it looks like a good neighborhood. Is anyone familiar with this area?

Any agent recommendations as well as neighborhood recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Honestly, I couldn't have been happier with the agent we used last year- Carole Souza form NP Dodge. Granted, we found our house very early in our search, so we were in a different situation, but I found her always available and able to help. She's helping a friend of mine right now and they've been very happy with her. http://www.npdodge.com/carolesouza/

Tell her Jeremy from Raven Oaks sent her if you decide to go with her- she cut us a deal to help the sale of our old house that we took a bit of a loss on, so I want her to know I didn't forget about her!

When we moved here, it was the third house we have purchased and by far the best agent we have ever had. Jim Acuff with ReMax jimacuff.com

Paul Roth is the most knowledgeable agent I have met. He seriously knows his stuff. Anything from the general market to SID, finances, disputes, Paul is awesome. His email is paul.roth@cbshome.com

I live at 45th and Bancroft. I LOVE this area. It has been great with my three little ones. It is generally retired people all around us.
For a real estate agent I would recommend Darryl Wikoff or Susan Hawkins with Prudential Real Estate. They are both really nice. If you decide to go with them, just tell them Stephanie with HOAA sent you.
