Any good steak places near the college world series?
(or on the way toward Lincoln if we end up staying there)

Ribs? BBQ?

Not too formal or overpriced would be good.

Round the Bend Steakhouse in between Lincoln and Omaha just south of the interstate has really good steaks and prime rib.

Round The Bend Steakhouse (http://www.roundthebendsteakhouse.com/rtbs/ - broken link)

Best steaks in Omaha, hands down, that won't cost you an arm/leg----The Drover on 72nd. Their whiskey steaks are the best steaks in Omaha. Just go---it's a couple of miles north of the I-80 & 72nd St. exit. You won't be disappointed.

Check out this website. It has a good list:
Omaha Steakhouse Restaurants - Fine Dining at its best!

However, In my humble opinion the Drover has bloated their prices to the point of no return and avoid Omaha Prime which has always been overpriced. Mahogany should be avoided at all cost since it exists for the sole purpose of allowing expense account execs to fleece their employers.

I would second sullivan's, though I avoid them because they are TOO expensive. Even a small luch can set one back $20 and dinner well over $30.

I also have heard good things about 801 Chophouse at the Paxton. But again they are VERY expensive, more so than sullivan's.

Both places are formal dinning, though I don't think they have a dress code. You may feel out of place if you go right from the ballpark though. I would call first.

If your into cheep and informal then the best place I know of is King Kong. Closest to the CWS is at 4409 Dodge Street. But I am cheap, so that may be why I like them so much.

Gorat's Steak House is also well known in the area for good steak. They are slightly more formal, but you should be ok in a nice looking 'T' and jeans. They are also fairly cheap for what you get. All my friends prefer this restaurant over any other for steak, but they are cheap as well.

I agree with Smith. The best steak I've ever had in Omaha is from The Drover. If you're further west, give Firebirds a try.

Round the Bend off exit 426 is good. I think they are having their testicle festival this weekend though (good party with a band), you might call ahead to be sure they are serving steak. In Lincoln check out Mistys on Havelock ave.
