What can you tell me about the Maple Village neighborhood (between 90th and the interstate, north of Maple and south of Fort)?

Thumbs up or thumbs down?

I am considering buying a house in that area. It is close to my work, but yet I am not that familiar with it. I grew up in South Omaha, so anything north of Dodge is a bit foreign to me. It appears to be a good neighborhood, but that is based only on driving through. What does everyone else think?

It would be great to hear from some people who live there or are close to someone who does!

Thanks!

I'm not going to be of much help, since my experience is so dated. But I will be interested to see what others say about it currently.

I lived in that neighborhood from '68 to '72 and it was excellent then. Learned to play golf on Maple Village Golf Course and have many other fond memories. In fact, if I had it all to do over again I don't think I would have left Omaha.

good neighborhood. know folks who live there.

it has some dirt roads in a couple areas, but it is a peaceful neighborhood. several parks in between there.

the roundabout little east on 90th and boyd is a bit annoying, but other than that it is good area.

plus it's close to where the keystone trail begins and a lot of business areas like 90th and fort or 72nd and fort.

It's a safe neighborhood. Most houses were built in the 1960s to early 1970s. I almost moved there before settling a couple miles east, where home prices are a little lower.

It's ok.

Like Keystone it's seeing more and more rentals and lower income. However Maple Village has the Maples on 97 or whatever they are call, section 8, bad bad place. Plus the neighborhood doesn't see to have the identity that Keystone maintains within the neighborhood, keystone newsletter, task force, etc. So that doesn't help keep people engaged.

The neighborhood is fine though. good place, pretty quiet. Fair share of problems.
