I agree.

I think this is a good idea?! KETV will be spending a ton of money on this unless they are getting some kind of government money. When I was about 10 I used to ride my bicycle from 45th and Franklin down to that same building to watch the trains come and go. So I have some good memories of the building.

Well, it's certainly a good idea in the respect that the Burlington had been languishing for quite awhile there with nothing happening. That's a historic building that was just wasting away in Downtown. While many have made the point that something better could have gone there, at some point you have to just take what you can get.

I have never considered that "downtown", I suppose it could be thought. My only question is where are they going to park? I'll have to drive by to see what it looks like now but back when I used to go there all the time there was no parking near by.

Even though the "official" southern boundary of Downtown is Leavenworth, the Burlington Station is listed as a Downtown building in most instances.

There's a huge parking lot on the south side of the Burlington, plus parking on the bridge. It's such a cool building, and even though it will take millions to renovate, KETV made a good move. There's a lot of new money moving into that area.

From what I heard, they were going to do something with either all or just some of that lot to the south.
