V-UP Vikings. I am a former Viking and I am very impressed that North made it to State. When I went there (93-96), they were a pretty mediocre football team.

when u have Brotha Haynes (as us North Vikings folks call him)

and good alumni reps motivating ur school, the team tries their best.

that is why Omaha North High is doing so good.

I am a 1998er North grad myself.

on a side note: I am surprised Central and Burke arent doing as well as my alma matter Omaha North is at football.

Benson and Bryan and South havent been good at football for many years,

but Central and Burke used to be the best in OPS and now have gone mediocre. What happened?

Well just look at the shift Millard North had this past year. 1 graduating class can mean a whole lot.

Anyway, I have to stay neutral in this because I have friends at both schools, but my moral-feel-good compass says go Vikings hahaha

Well it was a good game. Hard fought by both teams. Although I thought North was the benefitiary of some questionable calls/no calls. Such is the game.

Great game to watch and it was obvious these are the state's two best teams.

Omaha North 23, Omaha Westside 21
