Oakview will probably fall, in fact, it's basically already started. But the other three aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah I agree with that. I go to Westroads, Oakview and Shadow Lake often enough to tell the difference between a mall whos glory days are past and a mall that is alive and well.

Obviously Oakview is the one that has seen its days. Between losing stores on the outside of the loop to having some stores inside the mall that remind me of Crossroads before it went downhill. I think it'll happen slowly though. I like going to Oakview.

I don't get to Bellevue often, but a family member told me that Shadow Lake has lost a bunch of stores to the new Metro Crossing. Is that true?

Shadow lake in papillion is too far from metro crossing in cb to have any influence. Close to 15-20 miles away. I'd say the likes of Nebraska crossing may have an effect. Though I didn't see any empty store fronts at shadow lake. May have missed it however.

Crud - I didn't mean Metro Crossing. I meant that Outlet Mall in Gretna.

Westroads will never go, because it is a major bus hub. You see people of all walks of live shopping there. Nice blue collar mall.

Don't forget, 10 years ago you could have said the same thing of crossroads. Park fair mall downtown also had a major transfer point nearby and that did not save it. The bus line may slow the decline, but it's not going to stop it once it starts. EVERY mall in Omaha will fail at some point. The autocentric design and the continued westward push will guarantee it.
