You know one of those occurred in North Central Omaha and another occurred in your precious West Omaha, right?

Also, did you know that in Tampa, the city you claim to want to move to (and that I currently live in) you're actually more likely to be a victim of violent crime than you are in Omaha? And that is according to FBI crime statistics.

Enjoy your move!

what is your definition of west omaha? Nevermind the other statistics in this case. Wasn't scattered site housing and bussing supposed to fix all this?

Why do we continue to feed the troll?

I think we all know that the northeast quadrant of the metro area has the highest rate of poverty and crime. And yes, the two go hand-in-hand.

But beyond mockery, I would be interested to hear what the OP proposes be done to improve things. Real suggestions would be appreciated.

West Omaha is typically considered anything west of 72nd. I personally think that definition is a bit outdated given the western sprawl but regardless of my feelings, it remains.

That is the definition I use as well, as that's historically west Omaha. Many today consider west omaha west of 680 (or about 144th). Honestly if you look at neighborhood layout, neighborhoods west of 72nd share more in common to the western side of the city than the eastern side. With their winding streets and arterial roads.
