Hey ya'll,

Just moved up here. So far I've tried Stellas, Dinkers, Runza, King Kong, Sinful Burger, Culvers and Five Guys. Does anyone have any hidden gems I should try?

On a non-burger related note, Crescent Moon Ale House and the BEST melts.

Thanks!

Wendy's isn't even the best fast food burger (though as those go they aren't bad). Runza definitely makes a better burger (and that's not even getting mentioning the fries, which wipe the floor with all the national chain fast food places)

I'm sad to say I've never tried Louie M's, although I certainly plan to one day. Big fan of both Dinker's and Stellas, although I don't go to either as often as I'd like (I love a good burger, but I don't have a sophisticated enough palate to drive all the way to Bellevue from Westroads just for one!). Regarding Five Guys and its ilk, they aren't bad, but they're WAY overpriced and for me the small size doesn't fill me and the regular has too much

Goldberg's does a decent burger. I actually like Blatt Beer and Table, but I have been there with people that didn't like how the tried to make the burger "fancy." On the fast food side Don & Milles is kind of your classic greasy burger that I have to indulge on from time to time. People like Danny's over on 72nd and Blondo, never been that impressed there.

You have already had Five Guys, so in my opinion you have had the best. I know Stellas gets glowing reviews, but I just find their burgers too greasy and too thick. When I want to eat a burger I want to eat a burger, not grease.

That's MountainMen's schtick though. We had a similar thread about pizza and his advice was Little Caesar's. It's a rather poorly veiled attempt at making digs at Omaha.

I was never a huge burger kind of guy, but Bronco's Don and Millie's and Dinker's were pretty good. I think the best burger I had back there though was at a place called Derby in Downtown Council Bluffs. They closed up in 1997 or 1998 though.

In a blind taste test, Wendys burgers would destroy anything local. The pretzel buns are delicious, the toppings are high quality, and the beef is always fresh never frozen. If I'm ever eating a hamburger, it's a Wendy's junior bacon cheeseburger or a pretzel bacon cheeseburger.
