No more "dumplings and kraut today..." as another iconic Omaha restaurant shuts its doors forever.

Still, 92 years in business is impressive!

I wonder what will happen to the very distinctive building now?

I always enjoyed the restaurant over the years when I lived there. Once of the "best" simply doesn't say it all. Sad to see it close.

While I can't remember ever dining at the Bohemian Cafe, I'm sad to see another historical Omaha Institution close its doors.

I ate there a few times, and enjoyed the food. But I don't dine downtown that often, and I think that is what ultimately killed the restaurant. Over the years Its customer base had slowly moved west and just didn't drive downtown to dine very often, and the neighborhood's newer residents preferred other types of food.

The aging ownership and workforce were also an important factor. I certainly can't blame them for wanting to retire, and there was no younger generation ready and eager to take over.
