My dad had it done about 10 years ago. He hasn't had any issues, except that it didn't fix it 100%. He still needs reading glasses...but I think he's happy to be rid of his glasses the rest of the time.

It's getting to be a fairly common procedure nowadays. A couple years ago Greg Maddux, a MLB pitcher ticked off his team by going and getting it done in the off-season w/out consulting the team. From what I hear, he had no issues.

Had it about 9 years ago. They corrected for distance and it was fantastic for about 7 years. I could see clear as a bell. Over the last 2 years there has been deterioration. I now need reading glasses for 18" in, and the distance isn't as sharp as it was. But let's face it, I'm 9 years older. I'm told that I can go in for a redo on the distance, but they can't do anything about the reading glasses.

All in all, it was a great experience. I had been wearing glasses/contacts from age 26 - 43. The last 9 years not needing them was a godsend.

Yeah, that is what they told me....they can't fix getting older, and reading glasses come with that territory.
I've had glasses since I was seven, I can't even remember what it was like to just wake up and be able to see.
