This may sound odd, but I'm hunting for Kimlan brand soy sauce, nothing else compares. . . I've purchased it in Omaha, but I can't remember where. I'm running low and I've been all over town looking for it.

I think I got it at Hy-Vee, but the three closest to me do not have it. Do different Hy-Vees carry different stuff?

Yes, different Hy-Vees carry different merchandise.
Have you tried Asian grocery stores?

Not yet, but I will if I can't find it at one of my normal haunts. As a last resort I could do mail order, but I don't want to be that person.

Where are the good Asian grocers?

There is an Asian market on the east side of the No Frills plaza on 1414 Harlan Drive in Bellevue called Mision's Oriental Food mart. Don't know if you want to drive all the way down there but I've been there many times and everything is fresh and authentic. I'm sure they have the soy sauce you want.

eta: I found Kimlan brand Soy Paste at the Peony Park Hy-Vee. It's thicker than regular soy sauce, but it tastes just as good. yum. yum.

I eventually went to the Asian grocery store on Cass & 76th and found it there too.
