Just wanted to post our adventure to the Omaha area last week. What great people - friendly, kind, considerate, etc. (something we do not experience on a daily basis here in California). We attended a Royal v. Las Vegas game. Had a great time. Then hit the zoo the next day. What clean/nice/fun zoo. Love the greeness. In California and its all dry and brown here (no rain), so appreciated the country side. Great food (went to Brewfest and Alpine Inn - son enjoyed the raccoons). It is pretty laid back - not as fast paced as Cali. I lost at the Horseshoe casino! But all in all, thanks Omaha for the great hospitality.

We moved out here to Nebraska in 2001, from Northern California (Sacramento area). We're in western Nebraska right now but we are moving to Omaha in the spring. I don't regret our decision for a minute--the cost of living in CA is much higher than living there is worth, people are nicer here, and there is far less crime.

Glad you enjoyed yourself! You were considering moving here, right? Good luck with everything!
