Just a question -- when you say "mature" age group, can I count on a lot of over 40 and over 50????
Yes, it has some couples in their 20's, some in their 30's, but mostly 40's on up. Which is nice, because in the summer you can relax at the pool without it being an out of control free-for-all.

Also has an elevator which makes it easy to move to upper floors.

I once dated someone who lived there. They're not very nice. I don't know about the other people who lived there, but the units themselves were kind of run down, and I remember seeing a story on the news about tenants having mold problems and managment refused to do anything about it. This was a couple years ago so maybe it's changed, I don't know.

I hope it's ok to keep this thread going. We are finally moving from San Diego to Omaha end of next week. We are looking for a room with private bathroom or even better an apartment to stay from 1/26 to about 4/30. Ideally that is a sublet, but short lease is ok too. Our limit is under $600/mo including all utilities. If anyone knows of places that are mo to mo or has a sublet situation, please let me know. Thanks in advance, anywhere in the metro area is fine.

Good luck. I wish I could point you in a specific direction, knowing it would work perfectly. But I can't.

Have you tried Craigslist? They have a "housing" section. Maybe that'd be a good source.
craigslist: omaha / council bluffs classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

Again, good luck!

I would look for an extended stay agreement in a small motel somewhere in the Omaha area. Generally, you can work out some great deals especially with that length of stay.

Sorry, I should have added "besides Craigslist" to my post. Yes I have.

The only one I found advertises on CL and only goes as low as $22/night monthly. That still works out to $660/mo and we would have to store our stuff.

Hello. I am looking into moving into an apatment for the fall school year of 10-11. I will be attending Creighton University. I would like to be somewhat close to campus, however safety is a big concern to me. I am a single parent and would be bringing along a 1-year old. Any advice on housing?
