Does anyone know of a good online source for house rentals in the Omaha area? I've found a lot for apartments, but my niece would rather rent a house.

Thanks!

I'm interested in seeing the replies to this, too. We are moving to Omaha in July--I have the exact same question!

I'd be interesting in this information as well. Specifically in Dundee and the area between UNO, UNMC, and the VA (the closer to UNMC and the VA the better). Price range of anywhere from $600-1,100. Hoping for at least 3BR and 2BA but willing to consider less. Thanks!

Honestly, I think that finding a house to rent is going to be a little tougher than apartment rentals. And I think that the reason is because a lot of landlords will only rent "by word of mouth" because they don't accept Section 8, and they want to be very picky about who they lease to.

Very true Omaha Rocks and I can't say that I blame them. In my nieces case she would like to stay under $600 for a two bedroom -- I know, I know! It is not going to be easy finding that in a safe neighborhood.

True.

And you have to add to that the fact that some people don't consider anything east of 72nd Street to be safe.

I'll be looking for as cheap as I can get without going totally ghetto, as close to UNO as I can get without breaking the budget, at least 3 bedrooms, pet friendly, and I would prefer to be EAST of 72nd because I like old houses/neighborhoods with character. I know the pet thing can be a tall order....but I can provide a pet resume of sorts with Vet contact info, breed type, etc and I am willing to pay a very handsome pet deposit I hate how irresponsible pet owners have made things so hard for those of us who are scrupulous in the care and maintenance of our pets!

I don't want to dodge flying bullets by any means, because I have kids at home.....but I don't scare easily, either. I don't have to have a culdesac full of soccer moms in order to feel safe! I'm a fulltime student so I'd like to keep costs down, because my husband will likely be the only one working.
