Arrest follows MySpace threats

Arrest follows MySpace threats - Omaha.com

An Omaha man already ordered to stand trial for making terroristic threats through text messages has been charged in connection with similar accusations.

Michael M. Murphy, 18, was charged Friday with one count of making terroristic threats. Police said the arrest was related to alleged threats made to a 15-year-old girl through a social-networking site.

According to the police report, Murphy made the threats against a 15-year-old female on her sister’s MySpace page. Murphy allegedly wrote that he didn’t want to hurt the 15-year-old or her child and didn’t want to end up "killing her kid or her."

A call to his attorney, Karen Nelson, was not immediately returned. Murphy’s mother declined to comment.

In the earlier case, Murphy was accused of sending threatening text messages and of threatening another female student. When his home was searched during the first case, investigators said, they found what they described as a "hit list" with at least 10 names on it, including the names of some of Murphy’s classmates at Millard South High School.

The kid is a nut-job. Period.

I do find it interesting, though, that the 15-year old girl he was threatening has a baby. That thickens the plot a bit...

But mostly, isn't this kind of thing supposed to happen ONLY at Omaha North or Omaha Central or Omaha South high schools? NOT Millard! Nooooooo!!!!!!!!!

I was surprised too it happened at millard south. I btw for the record am a Omaha North grad and proud of it.

(sarcasm/humor noted below)

this story cant be true, I mean, Millard North and Millard South and Omaha Westside and Millard West students and alums are more holier than everyone else and cant do no wrong.

this must be a vast Omaha Central and Omaha North and Benson High and Omaha South conspiracy.

MichaelMurphy was actually the one who brought this one back from the dad.

Anyways, we can probably stick a fork in Myspace. I sign on maybe once a month just to keep in touch with a few stragglers, but it's more or less dead.
