They already have Tuskers so Huskers are out. All train related names are out because of the Las Vegas Loco's (not the "crazies" but the locomotives"). They moved the Sacramento and Hartford teams earlier this spring and had fan naming contests, probably do the same here.

I do love the Bug Eaters thing. Omaha Bug Eaters would be weird... but cool.

I am actually excited about this. I hope that the quality will be on par or above the elite college teams. If the tickets are around $20 it will be well worth it, and with all the parking around that area that will make it even more attractive. Sign me up as someone who will go to at least a couple of games.

Since I've started kayaking... I've seen a lot of a particular animal species tooling around lake/rivers which I didn't realize was so prevalent around here.

Introducing... the Omaha Otter.

LOL...Potholes. That would be cool. I hate the GB Packers though.....that would kill me to ever have to root for a team by that name (no disrespect to Omaha South).

More details:

UFL kicks off in Omaha - Omaha.com

Something I we should do is have the team partly owned by the city. The revenue the city gets can be used to fix the potholes. Some notes about comments made in this thread:

Most of the players are former NFL players (or college players)
This has not been finalized
Last season games were played in October and November
50% of the team will be owned by the UFL
They're starting teams in other states as well.

What about the "Omaha Commanders."

I originally liked the Bug Eaters idea but figured that was too out there for the league to pick. Commanders is a tie in to SAC but is also generic enough to suit a pro sports league.

I suppose there are a ton of different names that could be connected to SAC, like Bombers, Rockets, and etc.
