I'm moving to Papillion next month from Missouri, and obviously have lots of decisions to make. I'm looking for any recommendations because I'm not very familiar with these companies.

Banking
I don't like the super big banks like B of A. I'm considering Pinnacle Bank? Location is very convenient, from what I've read they seem to have good customer service and it looks like they are in good financial shape. I was thinking about Tierone, but it looks like they might be in trouble. Then of course there is FNBO.

Trash
I'm looking for decent rates, reliable service, and recycling. Considering Abe's Trash? Locally owned. I'm happy I'll be able to choose. Where I live now we have no choice.

Phone/Internet
I guess it's either Qwest or Cox? I need reliable broadband for my job. What are your experiences with these companies?

My wife & I bank at First National Bank of Omaha and are very happy there. I have an extended family member that works at SAC Credit Union - which will be big in Papillion.

We have Verizon cell phones, because they bought out Altell. I hate Verizon. They're coverage is okay, but they absolutely jack you over in every way possible with their billing.

We have Cox basic cable & internet. We've been satisfied with them.

We bank at Centris and have no complaints. I'm sure this is with any bank, but a long time ago when I was in bad financial situation they really made me mad. Because of their punitive overdraft fees, they made a bad situation worse for me. Their $25 hits put my account over $400 dollars in the red, because I had a bunch of $1 - $5 outstanding things that hadn't posted to my account yet. So I had to take a cash advance on my credit card at 30% or whatever to try and get my account back into the black. It was a friggin' nightmare.

I use Sprint for our Crackberries and it seems to work pretty good. For unlimited text and web for both phones it's around $129 per month.

I use Abe's for trash service and I think it's about $56 dollars for 3 months of service. Which I think is one of the lowest in town. If it's much more than that for you, shop around. Papillion Sanitation is what my mom uses, and WM is what my in-laws use, but I think WM is outrageous personally.

I use Cox for digital cable, DVR, and HD channels. I'm happy with it. I have no idea why people with Satellite claim to like their service. Beaming a signal to your house is never as reliable as running a wire, plain and simple. I like my stuff to work when it's windy or raining. I also use Cox for broadband internet. You can purchase faster tiers of service if you like, but the basic is ok for most things, I purchased my modem, because renting one is dumb. Internet over coax is quickly becoming old technology, but not as old and crusty as broadband over telephone wire, which is what DSL (Qwest is). Blah.

I used Security for a few years, was happy with them. We stupidly switched because we moved to the other side of town and Great Western had better locations for us (they have them in Walmarts, and were open on Sunday afternoon). I should have stayed with Security. They're a good bank.

We just weren't happy with GW--they made a few major screw-ups that almost cost us thousands of dollars and a check that I wrote to a car dealership almost bounced. They apologized for the error, compensated us, and then screwed up again to the tune of about $2000 about 6 months later. They fixed it again, but we didn't stick around to let them do it again.

We switched to First National. We like their online bill pay, and their customer service has been what we have expected. When we've needed to contact them, they're there, and they haven't screwed up. That's really all I expect from a bank.
