Hey there... My wife & I just got back from a long, puttering around, motorcycle ride. We went down past 33rd & Webster. Not sure what house you're talking about, but it doesn't really matter. I think you'll like that area - especially if you're accustomed to some diversity.

Thanks for the information guys. I was wondering, is the 33rd and Webster area considered Midtown?

You're right about the houses - one of the striking features of Omaha are the amount of big beautiful homes located there, which I didn't really expect when I first visited the city. I didn't really expect all the potholes, either, but the nice scenery makes up for it.

I think your conclusions about high crime areas are probably true for most cities. As long as you don't do anything stupid, like walking your dog at 2 AM in the ghetto, you'll probably be alright!

Yes, it's Midtown. Midtown's boundaries are 24th to Saddle Creek and Center to Cuming.
