I work in IT field so I bookmarked that page information. I like to see what non-government employees are making. If thats not your area you just change the job title to yours. If I'm not too forward, what field do you work in?

I think you will find AV to be a very pleasant place to live. The city is hilly, clean, and well-maintained with flowers, parks (23), bicycle trails and greenslopes everywhere. The climate is mild since the city is, by air, 3 miles from the ocean. There is very little crime.

The housing stock is primarily new. The only downside is that houses are very close to one another; that is the only way to fit about 42,000 people into 10 square miles and still have plenty of open spaces.

Town Center is very vibrant and easily accessible with plenty of parking. You will find: a multi-screen movie theater, a fresh produce market, a grocery store, several restaurants, a pet hotel, an urgent care center, a bookstore, fast food places, a large chain hardware store, a surf shop, a florist, etc.
This amateur video will give you some idea of what Town Center looks like:

You will do okay on a family income of $90,000, but your wife might consider working part-time. South County (Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Laguna Hills, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, RSM, etc.) is very expensive. North County is not much cheaper. I just happen to think that it is prettier down here with eaiser access to the ocean, parks, etc.

Good luck with your move and good luck with your new job. There is plenty to do here and it's a beautiful area. Aliso Viejo is centrally located---near the ocean, close to 2 decent malls, close to good shopping..... There will be plenty of women with young babies....it's a family area....

By both living and working in Aliso Viejo, your biggest AM commuting decision will be whether to roll out of the left, or right side of your bed, and straight into your office.

Lunchtime Decision: Do I brown bag it, stop by at home, or leisurely stroll over to a local restaurant?

PM Commute: Wow, I had better quicken my pace if I want to leave work at 5:00, beat the traffic, and still make it home no later than 5:10.

Again, congrats!

Hi!
There's a good Indian/British grocery on El Toro Road between Rockfield and Muirlands in Lake Forest. (About a 10-15 minute drive) My hubby gets his HP there!

We also go on occassion to "The Olde Ship" on 17th street in Santa Ana (about 30 minutes north) for Bangers and Mash and Sticky Toffee Pudding or Rhubard Crumble with hot custard! Mmmmmm!

Welcome! My English husband loves it here!
