Hi,

I had enrolled my son's name (when he was 6 months) in possibly all the montessori schools of irvine, but there was a long waiting list. He is also waitlisted at "Irvine Child Development Center".He is now 2 yr, and there is still waiting in montessori schools. Finally, i have decided to put him in "Turtle Rock Preschool" in irvine. Does anyone have an experiene of putting their child in montessori schools/child development centers/preschool at 2 yrs? Is it worth to wait for a montessari school for that long?

Anyone willing to share their experience about sending kids to montessori/preschool/child development center in irvine?

Thank you for sending responses.

I just wanted to say that my best friend put her son in Turtle Rock Preschool (he's 5 now and about to start their kindergarten) . She drives him there from Aliso Viejo everyday, because she wanted him there so badly. She has been thrilled with that school and cannot say enough good things about it.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with Turtle Rock.

I've been researching schools for my little ones, but I'm finding it cost-prohibitive.

V. =)

Not to be glib, but you were probably 6 months to late w/ signing him up. We had our 2 on waiting lists for multiple locations w/in 2 months of birth. We did not go the Montessori route - which I understand is VERY popular w/ looooooong waiting lists - but did apply to the Irvine Child Development Center. We did'nt get into there until the oldest was 3.5 and already happily enrolled in another facility.

FWIW we have had our 2 boys at the Jenny Hart Education Center (took 18 months for the oldest to get in, youngest got in on a sibling deal) for most of their preschool lives and love, love, love, it.

You may have to put your child into a short term arrangement until your location of choice opens up. There are some decent childcare centers in Irvine, including the aforementioned Jenny Hart, the Tutor Time on Harvard has a good rep as does Good Shepard and many others I can't recollect right now.

Good Luck

Editted to add: Also heard really good things from one of my wife's mom friends about the preschool at the Jewish community center on Bonita Canyon. They enrolled their sons their even though they are christains because of the strength of the education program.

Thank you so much. I have heard a lot about Jenny Hart Education Center, but wasn't very sure to enroll there. Is child development center different than a day care? Why montessori schools are so much in demand?....any comments suggestions..
