I am a civil engineer with 4 years experience in public works projects. I got laid off last November and since then I have been searching for a job but have had ZERO luck so far!

Hi Pars,
I must emphasize that I know nothing about these companies.
My hunch is that companies with large federal or defense engineering contracts are doing better than most others that may rely upon state, local or private projects right now.

My dad works in construction management. He lives in AZ, but because it's so hard to find construction jobs, he's actually working in TX. Apparently in many parts of TX construction is booming. You may have to look out of state.

My hunch is that companies with large federal or defense engineering contracts are doing better than most others that may rely upon state, local or private projects right now.
