Your question from 2007 was never answered:

Cliff Drive, Heisler Park.

My dad took this shot in the late 1950s. (Scanned from a Kodachrome slide using a Nikon LS-2000 film scanner.)

Anyone know where this shot was taken from? Also, taken late 1950s, scanned from slide.

You beat me to it. Again. I went to a wedding there. A Labor Day weekend. It was 104 degrees. Yes. 104 degrees in Laguna Beach.

I'd estimate the Disneyland Hotel postcard to be mid-60's. Judging by the clothes and the hair and the fact that I THINK it's the first tower that was built. Sierra? Going by memory here. It was a big deal when it was built. The Cal Fed building (6 stories) had been the tallest building in Anaheim and the DH seemed like a sky-scraper.

Bad timing on their part, as that happens at most twice a year. "That" being when the coast is hotter than the inland valleys and desert areas.

Must have been late in the season, late Summer or Fall.

EDIT: Ooops, I guess I missed the Labor Day part.

I saw them play a game at LaPalma Park when I was a kid. Some weird memory of them practicing at Savanna High in Anaheim, but not positive on that.

Don't remember watching them on TV. Were they opposite Roller Derby, because Roller Derby would definitely have won out.

Never heard of them, but that's not all that odd seeing as how I'm not even remotely a fan of football.

I have recently completed a few books on historical Orange County including

50 Years in "Old" El Toro: A Family, a Time, a Place

Amazon.com: Love of the land: The Pankeys of Orange County: Edgar Pankey: Books

Amazon.com: Orange County: A Personal History (9781416540045): Gustavo Arellano: Books

and

A history of El Toro, (Book, 1939) [WorldCat.org]

Today, I visited the Heritage Hill Park on Serrano and Lake Forest. Would strongly recommend anyone interested in local history to check that place out. It is free (my favorite word in the world). Free guided tours.

Here's a picture of the old church just before it was moved to Heritage Hill. Notice the subdivisions under construction in the background.
