Last time I took a wrong time and ended up in Pacific Palisades. Don't want to do that again!!
if you exit la cienega, there's only one way to go (north). just stay on la cienega until you get to sunset. it's a wide street and will take you through beverly hills, past the beverly center, and finally to the sunset strip.

Default Ah, memories!

Jackie,

La Cienega is the easiest route. Most other routes, including Sunset, will take you through a fair amount of traffic. Also, Sunset is jammed running west (toward Santa Monica) in the morning, and east (toward Hollywood) in the evening. The most scenic route is taking Sunset. I used to live on Beverly Glen, and I drove up to Sunset, then west to Hollywood, every day for 2 years. I thought it was the most fun commute in LA - first the twisty turns through the beautiful tree-lined neighborhoods of Beverly Hills, then the sudden transition to the glitz and clubs of West Hollywood (and the beginning of the greatest strip of billboards on the West Coast), then the grit and flavor of Hollywood, often with a celeb sighting or 2 as I passed the ArcLight Theater. Never a dull moment - I miss that in comparison to the streets of Irvine, seriously. It's all a matter of perspective!

G.

Ok, I will try next time! To be honest, the twists of Sunset scare me, towards Pacific Palisades and the stretch before Beverly Hills is very terrifying for me. I live in OC and I MUCH prefer LA, I love the big city feel and and the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. I don't like Irvine at all, it's so suburban and boring. I never knew Sunset blvd went to Santa Monica; the time when I got lost I went to Pacific Palisades.

Hollywood is so exciting but the driving there is scary and there are so many hills everywhere! I went up a hill (from a parking garage structure) and there were passengers walking across so I braked and then my car started to roll down but I accelerated fast and went up again. It was so scary, luckily there was no one behind me.

Ummm, I actually followed your suggesteions and took these directions, just about 3 hrs ago and I got lost! When I exited, the road split off into Manchester/La Cienega so I DID take La Cienega but somehow La Cienega turns into a freeway... I just went straight, I didn't turn anywhere. It looked like the Arroyo Seco freeway, it was this freeway that was still kind of a regular street and had all these crazy exits on there so I thought to myself "Crap, I gotta get the hell out of here!" and when I exited I was in Baldwin Hills along Pico... I have google maps installed on my phone, and it directed me to stay on Pico until I hit W Beverly Glenn and take that up to Sunset. I think I was around Westwood. I just got sick and tired of driving around so I just went home!

What was that weird fwy I ended up on? I'm going to go look it up now so I'm sure I will find out in 5 minutes but your directions didn't work for me
