Please help....
My dtgr. has 3 friends who will be coming over from the UK around Feb and are looking to live in the Laguna Beach area on a budget.(insert laughter here) I'm afraid they've seen too many episodes of "The OC, The Hills and Laguna Beach." They don't understand the true reality when it comes down to the high cost of living there.
However, I said I'd do what I could to help them out since they're friends of my dtgr. I would appreciate any info. you can send my way since we live in AZ and I'm clueless where to send them.
They've requested a 3 bed/2 ba for approx. $2,000./mos and will be in CA for approx. 3 mos. I'm not sure where to send them for that amount of money and a short lease that's safe and decent. They are around 21 yrs. old and want to be near the night life for people their age.
I would appreciate any help you could send my way and please don't shoot the messenger with your responses.
Thank-you very much for your time and help.
Sincerely,
EmptyNest4

Hi there,

2k for a 3/2 in Laguna...Beach? Well here is the place to look, I see 5 results and some of them look sketchy:

orange county craigslist > apts/housing for rent: search for "laguna"

Just remember that just because it has the word "Laguna" in it, doesn't mean it is beachside or very nice.

For 2k on a 3/2 you are pretty much asking the impossible for all of OC, I am not lying.
Everyone wants to live in Newport and Laguna so it is very expensive.

For those girls ages though, I would not recommend Laguna. It is going to be older and boring. They would have a much better time in Huntington Beach.

Thanks for the help and info. rockx. I'll be sure to mention Huntington Beach to them since they prefer the younger crowd.
My sister lived in Orange County for many yrs. and I knew how pricey it was at that time. I already warned them it would be $$$$ any place in Orange County but @ 21, it's called "livin the dream."
Also, forgot to menton (my mistake) it's 3 guys. Friends she met from college while here in the US.
Again, thank-you.

I think it would be very difficult to find a 3/2 in that price range .............
