I'm 18 years old and considing moving to Fullerton with 3 friends to go to the community college. I dont have any money saved up but expect parents to pay for at least 2 -3 months of rent for me to find a job.
so my questions are, is it easy to find a job in Fullerton? and where are cheap but nice apartments to live in? and how is the area for college students like myself?

deliver pizza, that's what paid the bills for me when i attended csuf. it helped me afford rent and beer as well as fed me many nights a week. i gained 30-40 pounds, but that's avoidable if you're smarter than i was.

BACKWARDS!

Get a job first, then move out.

What if you do not find a job? "Mom, Dad, you have to keep paying my rent for a few years, OK?"

You might get lucky, or you might find out that even after much searching and applying 3 months will not land you a job. Fullerton is a great area, and I'm sure you'll be fine if you are sharing a room and splitting the rent with 3 other dudes. If not trying checking out apartments in areas that border Fullerton, such as Anaheim. Anaheim has a bad rap - like, I wouldn't necessarily raise a family there- but it isn't East LA, and the area bordering Fullerton is more than fine.

DUDE!

You should be able to fend for yourself if you think that you are ready to leave the nest, without relying on the peeps. At 18, I wasn't ready. I was 19 before I moved out on my own for the first time. And I still had my doubts - but I survived! lol

I guess the critical questions are, where do you live now, where are you going to go to school and how much money do your parents have??

BTW, "cheap" and "nice" are rarely used in the same sentence when discussing housing in Orange County.

I would suggest that you stay home if the sitch at home is copocetic. There is plenty of time to spread your wings.
