My brother is moving to the area from the east coast, just wondering if that is a safe area.

I grew up near there (Brookhurst and Ball) and at that time it was quite safe. In the last 20 or so years, however, the area has declined in the "quality of life" quotient. I have not spent much time in that area for a while but I feel that I would be safe in saying that there are better areas of Orange County in which to live.

Just a few blocks up is the city of Stanton which is dealing with some serious "issues" at this time.

Just for fun I asked the Magic 8 Ball if that was a good area to live in and the Magic 8 Ball said -

Ask Again Later. hmmmmm...

Magic Eight Ball CGI

I hope this helps!

I go that way everyday & to be honest, it's scary.
Like being in a 3rd world hell-hole.

I honestly wouldn't go that far. It's hardly Detroit or East St. Louis.

It's a mostly hispanic area. There are a large number of people from the Middle East as well. Also some older white families who have lived in the area forever.

It's a mix of single family homes, apartments and condos. Plenty of things like stores, churches, banks. He'd get all the Anaheim city services which are above average: Police, fire, libraries. It's close to Disneyland, Knotts, Anaheim Stadium, the Pond. (Easy drives to each.) He'll pay Anaheim rates for water and electric which are very low. They have a great recycling program.

There is grafitti and there is crime. There are also a LOT of middle and working class families who have normal lives. The housing was built from the late 50's to mid 70's.

I'm very curious as to how he ended up with that choice. I the OP comes back, I'd love to know.

No it's not either of the two for sure, but I was not raised here.
I've noticed that people raised here just accept how nasty that
whole area is, like it's normal.
The neighborhood is full of homeless people, gang members
& assorted weirdos. Also, I noticed Gypsies in the area lately.
Agreed there are normal family people in the area but personally,
I find all of Anaheim, GG & Stanton to be depressing & run-down.

They Gypsies have been in Fullerton/Anaheim/Garden Grove since the late 60's.
At least it's convenient if you need your palm read.

Hmm, I never noticed them until recently.
My Gypsy radar must be stuck.

I remember some years ago, there was a large kumpania of them in GG. Somebody laid a terrible curse on something or other, and the whole kumpania vanished the next day. The Roma are traditionally nomadic, and superstitious to a fault (though not quite so gullible as the people on whom they prey); they come, they go, they come again.
