Looking for true crime books with Orange County (or Los Angeles or Southern California) as (one of) the settings. Doesn't necessarily have to be murder but it seems most true crime books are related to murder.
A couple I have found that I plan on getting from the library are:
If you really loved me : a true story of desire and murder, Author: Rule, Ann. I'd love to find a book on this guy: "Gerald Parker" "Bedroom Basher"

The Ann Rule book is excellent. She nails Garden Grove and it's an excellent account of what happened.

Anyone familiar with Santa Ana conditions can identify with the opening words to Red Wind :There was a desert wind blowing that night. It was one of those hot dry Santa Anas that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands' necks. Anything can happen.
