I love a small Mexican joint called Alertos. It's on 17225 Brookhurst, near Edinger. It's not a very pretty place, and it is not a sit-down restaurant where you want to bring your date, but it sure is tasty!!

any small hole in the wall usually is best. Out here out health Dept rates the restuarants A is super clean, not bad but not to ethnic. Try to find the "B"s thats where the good stuff is. Stay Away from anything lower than a B

If you go to some of the real hispanic neighborhhods you'll find taco trucks open late at night, they rock too

I'm so amazed at how many responses your msg. posting has gotten vs. questions about neighborhoods, etc. LOL! Okay, here's my suggestion: Jalapenos (in Tustin, Orange and maybe Irvine) or Tacos Jalisco off Tustin Ave. and Walnut or Palm? in Orange, but at Tacos Jalisco, if you're gringo the service isn't that great. But they have the bomb bean & cheese burrito. Have fun!
