Only been down here for a year but I'm still in the dark about what each of the neighborhoods are here in Newport. I know there's Balboa and CDM (both of which I still think of as separate cities) along with Newport Coast. What are the areas by Hoag Hospital, Fashion Island/Port Streets, and the back bay by Eastbluff?

So anyway...back to my original question. What are the other neighborhoods? I'm especially interested in knowing the ones around Hoag Hospital and Eastbluff on the back side of the bay.
Do those have names?

Me too. Growing up in O.C. in the 50's and 60's we divided the towns by their beaches. Newport Beach, Balboa and CDM were three separate places.
And we always said Newport BEACH. Every time I see or hear just "Newport" I think it's a referral to someplace on the east coast.

I grew up just little ways South of there and I would have guessed CDM was another unincorporated part of OC like where I lived. We also divided places by high schools (NHHS, CDMHS, LBHS, DHHS, and SCHS along the South Coast) which would have made it seem separate.
