My sister lives somewhere in the Santa Monica area. She just moved there so she is not familair with CA at all. I happen to be visiting my husband on business in the San Diego/Rancho Bernado area.

She mentioned meeting up in the Irvine/Costa Mesa area. Is there any place in the area that we could spend the day or someplace worth seeing. I will be bringing my 9 yr old son along. Please offer some suggestions. I'm open to anything except for an indoor mall.

Thanks.

Meet at the Irvine Spectrum!! It's a huge outdoor shopping center that has everything you can think of! Tons I restaurants, shops, and there is a ferris wheel, merry go round, and fountains that kids run through in the summer.

Hahaha sorry, I missed the last line of your post about anything except and outdoor mall! But, just to put it outlet there the spectrum is way more than a mall. The OC Fair just opened in Costa Mesa, you could go to the fair. Discovery Science museum in Santa Ana is cool. Balboa fun zone in Newport.
