I've always used Supershuttle from Brea to Orange County airport. Round trip including gratuity is $82.60. When I get to Chicago, I take a shared town car 45 mins from airport. Rate is $69.50 ea way including gratuity. Its more for a private car, but I've never had to share the vehicle. I've looked at town car rates in Orange County. Average rates are $80.24 each way or $152.46 round trip!! Anybody know of a car service that will be close to what I'm paying for Supershuttle?

Curious why you think a towncar would be anywhere close in price to a supershuttle? Wildly different classes of transportation.

$80/way actually sounds cheap.

Yeah, a towncar is going to be a lot more expensive than Super Shuttle. I still find it worth it (traveling is stressful enough without adding a long, shared shuttle ride in), but I don't think you're going to find a comparable price. Maybe a happy medium would be a cab? You get your own car, but it's cheaper than a towncar.

BTW, on the topic of towncars, Uber is starting to operate in OC. I've used it in the SF area and it's really great. However, not cheap (and if you are planning your trip ahead, it's more cost effective to book a towncar in advance. Uber is for when you need a ride on short notice.)

I've used Supershuttle for years, but I'm getting a little tired of making pickup stops to cram the most people in the van. They have been very good in their service but its a little stressful waiting for people who can't show the respect by being "ready" for their pickup. After a 4 hour flight from Chicago to Orange County, I'm always the last one to get dropped off in Brea. I land at 9:30pm and do not get home until almost 11:30pm. I kinda felt $80 to $129 each way was on the high end. Anyway, thanks to all for your input. After some research, I found a town car fleet service for about $60 each way. $10 over the price of a cab.

Enterprise. "They pick you up" (and often cost less than the shuttle, too).

I'm with you about shuttles. I personally like the control of having my own car and not having to wait for anyone, including a town car driver, so I opt for Enterprise. I just walk out of the plane, and into my car (or, when departing, they pick me up and I drive to the airport).

I'm sure you've already considered that, though.
