Reminds me of "Aahs". We would walk through the one in Westwood every now and then when bored in the area. Lots of good joke gifts. Looks like there are a few around the Southland.

Aahs Gifts Store

That sounds more like Spencer's Gifts than the local five and dime he's looking for.

Well, aahs has every item he mentioned in his post, if my memory serves me, which it normally does.

No bother, was just trying to help the guy out.

No good deed....

I actually just got a couple of cool coffee table books for xmas gifts there today. They have a bunch of quirky games, books, and other kitschy stuff. Like their clothes, it's mostly very hipster type of stuff.

do not know if there are still there, but my favorite was Fosters Gifts (I think that is the name). They were on Newport Avenu IN tustin right behind Newport 17 Resturaunt. They sold an awesome collection of really neat things, many made locallys by artists form the area. I could shop for days and find nothing for my wife, then go to fosters and spend hours figuring out which of 17 perfect gifts for her I woudl choose. The couple who owned it are awesome people and they would help me find things. After a few years, they knew when our anniversary and her birthday are and one in a while they woudl set aside something they knew she would probably like. At least for some people, it should be called the perfect gift store. UNfortunately in the past three years, when I have been in California in December or May, I was on a rushed trip and could nto get over there, so I am nto sure if it is still there.

The 99 Cent Store, Murakai, Mitsuwa Marketplace and if you happen to be near Newport Beach, Coast Hills Pharmacy.

You could try a local pharmacy. I know when I have been in the one near my home they have some cute gifts and the like that I don't usually see. Also, try Paper Source in South Coast Plaza. I worked there for awhile and along with all their paper and craft supplies they have unusual gifts. You can look online at Paper Source Stationery Stores | Wedding Invitations, Envelopes

I run the eCommerce for ENJOY, AN URBAN GENERAL STORE in Chicago (maybe that's the store you are referring to?). If it is, it seems that Otto in Fullerton, California (OTTO | shop and gallery) carries a lot of the same brands that we do (Fred & Friends, Wry Baby, Kikkerland, Mighty Wallets, etc).

We can also ship anywhere in the country

Yes! I lived in Lincoln square and enjoy is exactly the store I was talking about! I'm about to move away from Orange County....but I will keep that in mind and maybe have things shipped.
