Hi there, i was hoping someone could give me a hand with moving to the anaheim area. My girlfriend is currently intering with disney and we could end up relocating to the anaheim area. Im in my early 20s from new jersey, and currently a diesel tech for a boat and yacht company. so i was curriouse if anyone knows how hard its going for me to find a job working on boats, trucks or even cars. we have some money saved up but plan to have more by the time we are planing on the move (about 5 months from now). also were would be a good place to look around the anaheim area for housing ( we were looking to rent an apartment or house). we know sort of what to expect for rent but dont really know any of the areas around there since niether of us have ever been to CA. also we are looking for nicer areas not like slums but some where decent enough for two 20 yr olds. Thanks for reading

Anywhere between Anaheim and the ocean. Maybe even farther inland.

You're asking questions that are somewhat hard to answer. Have you tried looking for diesel tech jobs in Southern California? They, like everything else, are definitely out here but would expect that you are already taking the initiative to LOOK.

How much do you have saved up? Rent is not cheap here and figure out 28% or so of gross pay to go for rent, whether your current income or what you expect, BY YOUR RESEARCH, to be making out here. Don't spend more than a third of your income on a place just because it promises to give a sense of the "California life-style".

I live here in Anaheim and, while I think it is a worthwhile place to live, cannot recommend places to you without knowing more of your situation. There are also many other cities throughout Orange County (of which Anaheim is a part) and adjoining parts of Los Angeles County that could be options for you but you need to figure it out for yourself and (then) for the people on this board to be able to direct you.
