I have heard that Disneyland is smaller than Disney world. How many days should we plan? Thanks!

is it? i've been to both and feel like the actual park (not including the hotel area etc.) is bigger at Disneyland. That said i prefer Disneyland to Disneyworld.

I'd say 2 days for disneyland. One day for the California Adventures park.

This depends on a few things. Will you be traveling with small children who will get tired trying to see the whole place in one day? Will you be going on a less crowded weekday or a very crowded weekend? How much time do you have for your vacation to see other attractions? I think 1 day at Disneyland and 1 day at Universal Studios is far better than two days at Disneyland. I would not want to miss Universal Studios,Knotts Berry Farm or Huntington Gardens just to stand in line again during a second day at Disneyland.

Disneyland can easily be done in one day if you go during the summer since they stay open later (try to go during the week). CA Adventure is neat, but not mandatory if your time is limited. however, don't try to cram both into one day. as someone else mentioned, Universal Studios is probably a better use of a second day if you have to choose between that and CA Adventure.

Every year or two, we (me, wife, kid) like the get the 3-day SoCal resident special and NOT spend three whole days at Disneyland, but rather go at around 5PM when it's a lot cooler.

Disneyland ends each summer night with fireworks too. If you go during the day, you probably won't last until late at night when the fireworks happen. The park is much more fun at night.

We also like to save the third day as close to Halloween as we can. Disneyland puts on a great Halloween theme.

Zero - why spend $100/person to stand in line for several hours surrounded by a mob of people?

If you're planning on doing both parks with kids, I'd allow 2-3 days; you could, however, do both parks in one day, but I wouldn't rush if you don't have to.

If you have the endurance to get there right when Disneyland opens and stay until Disneyland closes then one day should be enough. It's unlikely you'll hit every single ride but you should get most of them at least.

Sung to the tune of "It's A Small World".

It's along wait, after all...
It's a long wait after all...
Once inside, it's a 2 minute ride
It's a long, long wait!

That's my opinion of time spent at Disneyland.

I'd say one day for Disneyland and one day for California Adventure. It's not like Disney World where you plan for 5 days.
