Hello,
I just got my first speeding ticket and I'm a little curious how much it will be. It was on the 241 in a 65, 'radar' said 80. Any ideas?

Thanx.

Better stock up on the KY before the ticket arrives. Its not going to be cheap.

guessing 125-175 PLUS traffic school if you go that route. I WOULD, it will save you on insurance for the next 3 years

If it's a first offense, you can go to traffic school instead.

When you go to traffic school say what I said to the instructor. Tell him you routinely drive 15 MPH over the speed limit and you get one speeding ticket every eight years and you drive 22,000 miles per year. (So for 80 vs 65 for 22,000 miles), the penalty for traffic school every eight years is four or eight hours or whatever and maybe $100 or whatever but you save 508 hours of time driving 80 instead of 65 so it is worth it.

Good thing youre not a trucker. Commercial drivers' tickets are outrageously high. Guess theres reason for that. Back in Az, if you have a CDL and get a ticket, you dont get the option of going to that traffic class so you can have it removed from your record, its there, period.
Speeding tickets can vary.

Class B here--I think--doubles the number of points you get on your record and you do face steeper fines, too. I think you can still got to traffic school to reduce the points you get, but you're pretty much guaranteed at least a point afterward, anyway.

California limits traffic school to every 18 months, I think... I've gone twice and have yet o get a point on my record. ^_^

Is it true that if you get a ticket in another state your insurance is NOT notified?

I just got a $110 speeding ticket in Colorado and I live in South Dakota.
