Hello. i am a 22 yr old college student from north cali and am moving down south for school. I'm going to be attending cypress college and was looking for a place to live near school. The cheapest places I've found are westminster and garden grove (i'm on a tight budget). I was wondering what the neighborhoods are like and if anyone has any information on the apartments there. I found a few under 1000 BUT am worried that types of people live there..since it IS so cheap.

If you find an apartment under $1000/mo in OC, you don't want to live there.

Unfortunately I have to agree - if you found a place under you don't want to live there, hahha. That being said, if you are just looking for a safe place that doesn't have to be too fancy, before we moved we lived in a place called Villa Toscana - in Westminster. It's not the nicest side of town, but the management was great, the place was pretty safe and it is near freeways (the 405 is right there and the 22 is about 5 min away) as well as pretty close to Huntington Beach (about 4 blocks outside of HB Border)

I don't have the number anymore, but I am sure you can google it. The managers name is Annie. 1 br a yr ago were going for about 1000 I believe. So I think it may be more like 1100 now.

BTW - about both GG and Westminster (I lived for 5 yrs in Westminster) they both have niceish and not so nice sides. It really depends on the cross streets. If you have any questions feel free to email me - I know the area well

Peace

westminster and garden grove are not great, but it's not like the inner cities are anything. you'll be fine. i wouldn't want to raise teenagers there, but that's about it.

Yeah, you don't want to live on Euclid in GG.
