It was my first time to the area. I was visiting family in San Clemente....I had such high hopes for this area. However after spending 2 weeks there I was ready to leave.
I mean, granted the coastal areas were nice, but I just thought it would be so much more. It was so meh....

I no longer hold the OC on it's once illustrious pedestal. And it's kind of disappointing.

I guess that's why the housing prices are so low. No demand.

I feel very meh here near Orange County- Yorba Linda/brea area. Just looking at the brown hills today, I was so hoping that my hubby gets this job in WA. And honestly I would consider San Clemente a nicer area for sure. I totally agree with you...

I don't know where you now live, but please share the above with everyone you possibly can. Especially if you're in the Bible Belt.

can you expand on the "meh" part? San Clemente seems pretty nice to me, based on my visits. But it might get boring after 2 weeks if you don't know many people. I imagine its a nice community to grow up in. love the beaches.

I agree with the OP, I've been here 23 years, and it sucks. Here's a picture of how much it sucks.

The beach is one of the few things I like about Orange County. Though we, like many people I know, don't go often as traffic is horrible on the 55/5/57 to my house. And I'm 35 min away. It would be nice to be rich and live down in a more remote area

What were you expecting, what you see on TV shows? Why would you hold OC on an illustrious pedestal to begin with?
