RSM and San Clemente are pretty evenly matched in terms of percentages of young people between the ages of 20-24. This doesn't make one any better than the other; it's just a reality.

RSM 5.4%
San Clemente 5.7%

I feel like San Clemente (statistics aside) has a reputation for having more young people because young people who live in other areas go there to hang out etc. Like my friends who live in Mission head out to San Clemente to go out, hang at the beach, go for drinks etc.. so I think as far as where young people "go" as opposed to "live", San Clemente probably has more. I don't really see many people my age heading up to RSM for a night out at Wood Ranch, know what I mean? I don't know if that made sense.

Even as young people get a bit older, it seems that a greater percentage of them head for RSM instead of San Clemente. Some are married, so you would expect that, but RSM still has a greater percentage of singles than San Clemente. Again, there are no value judgments here, just facts:

Ages 25-34
RSM
12.3%

San Clemente
10.5%

I see what you mean, because San Clemente also attracts tourists of all ages. Still, I find it interesting that a greater percentage of young people actually opt to live in RSM instead of San Clemente.
